Trend Micro OfficeScan Upgrade To Apex One

Unmanaged PCs running Trend Micro OfficeScan will be upgraded to the new Trend Micro Apex One system starting April 1st, 2021.

Apex One is the successor to OfficeScan and is compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2008 or higher. The upgrade will happen behind the scenes without user intervention and does not require a reboot. Existing scan exclusions will be migrated to the new system as well.

Windows 10 devices running OfficeScan will not be migrated.  Users should uninstall OfficeScan and use the built-in Windows Defender in addition to CrowdStrike. During the upgrade process, the Trend Micro icon will disappear and reappear (may take up to half an hour). Please ignore the following pop-up messages:



After upgrading is complete, you can open the Security Agent Console by

  1. Click the up-arrow icon to expand the taskbar items
  2. Right-click the Trend Micro icon
  3. Select "Open Security Agent Console"
