HOWTO: Change Your Email Address in your Mac Email Client

Purpose:

•  Instructions how to change your email address in your Mac Email Client from @partners.org to @mgh.harvard.edu
• If you work at MGH and you are affiliated with MGH Research your default email address might have changed to @mgh.harvard.edu. If so, then you will need to update your Email Client on your Mac or your iOS device with that new email address.

Requirements:

• Platforms: MS Outlook 2016 for Mac, Apple Mail
• You need to make sure you have a secondary email first  like @mgh.havard.edu.  Please contact the Service Desk to check

  

Instructions:

Outlook 2016 for Mac

1. In the Outlook application select Tools Menu then Accounts
2. Edit the Email address field and enter your new @mgh.harvard.edu email address
3. Then Click the Red X in the upper left corner for the window to close

Apple Mail

1. To change your email address in Apple Mail you will need to recreate a new account on your computer.
2. Here are instructions: Quit Mail.
   1. Quit Mail
   2. Open System Settings and Internet Accounts
   3. find the Exchange account associated with your email address, click the right arrow to bring up deytails, click delete account. Wait for the system to delete it.
   4. Go back to Internet accounts and click Add account. Choose a Microsoft Exchange account.
   5. Use only your primary email address, and the info will be sent to a secondary log in screen. Use your MGB credentials. log in the account details.
