April 30th, 2020 Research Tech Talk Announcements

Change:

Home drive (H:\) transition from CIFS2 to CIFSHD

Effective 05/17/20 home drives (H:\) will migrate from namespace CIFS to namespace CIFSHD. Anyone accessing home drives (H:\) on a Mac, nonstandard PC or personal device, will need to update their mapping manually. A brief outage will occur where you will be unable to access your home drive between 1 AM and 5 AM, Sunday morning 5/17/2020; during the normal ISM maintenance window. Specific Instructions for various platforms can be found here:

macOS
Windows 10
Windows 7

If for some reason you cannot open your home drive or access your files the first step should be to reboot your computer.  Rebooting should flush any old connections and logging on again will reconnect your home drive.
