HOWTO: Map Network Drives in Windows 10

Purpose:

  • Map a network drive on a Windows 10 computer

Requirements:

  • Windows 10 Operating System
  • Connection to the Partners network (Ethernet, PHSWifi3, CVO or VPN)

Instructions:

Partners build Windows 10 computers automatically map drives when connected to the network, such as being onsite or being connected to VPN.

If the drives are not mapped, there are two ways to map your network drives, through automatic mapping at portal.partners.org or manually mapping.

Manually mapping is required for Research Network Drives such as RFAs or MAD storage.

Automatic Mapping

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Search for Internet Explorer
  3. Right click and choose Run as Administrator
  4. Go to https://portal.partners.org
  5. Login using your Partners credentials:
    • Username should be typed as partners\username
  6. Press allow on the prompts to install the PHS VPN Program

  7. After installing, close and re-open https://portal.partners.org
  8. The progress of your drive mapping will show in the bottom left corner.
  9. Once drives have been mapped, they are found by going to My Computer or This PC.

Note: Please keep the Portal page open. Closing the page will remove the mapping from your computer.

If the automatic mapping fails, please attempt to map manually by following the steps below:
