Requirements
In order to modify the settings described in this article, you need to have administrator access to the list in Lyris. Email your list administrator to be added. If you need a new list, please visit the Collaboration section of this website for information and complete this request form.
Description
You can define who a mailing comes from, whether it is sent from the web interface or submitted via email. You can also define where any replies go. If you do nothing to this setting, the 'From:' is the email address and name of the author of the message, and the replies go to the author as well.
In some cases, you may want to obscure the email address of the author of the message and replace it with something else. In some cases, you may want to obscure the email address of the administrator who created the mailing and replace that address with another. For instance, if several people in the department can contribute announcements, you may want to use a Group Mailbox as the from, rather than the email address of the actual author. Doing so protects the original author's identity and prevents list members from contacting the author directly. You can request a Group Mailbox in Exchange by opening a ticket with the Outlook Support -PHS team through the IS Service Desk. This can take several business days to be fulfilled: https://www.partners.org/isservicedesk
