This trainining will be held at Simches Room 3.120

R has been really popular in recent years - as a matter of fact, the fastest-growing language - not only because of its statistical capability, but also because of its powerful ability to manipulate data in a relatively easy and fast manner. In addition, it can produce publication-ready plots with just a few lines of code.

This training course targets research scientists who have no or little knowledge of R (if you have used R before, please do not sign up for this session). This hands-on training will provide many examples and exercises. Below are the topics that we will study.

  • What is R? Why R?
  • What to use?
    • R console, Rstudio and Partners Rstudio
  • How to read and write in R
  • Simple computation
  • Data manipulation
    • Index
    • Sort / Order
    • Filter
    • Merge / Join
    • Aggregation
  • Plots
    • Basic R plots
  • How to install packages
