Stop by after the MGH Research Council Meeting to receive 1:1 support and learn about resources available to support your technology, data and analytics needs for research and innovation. This month, stop by to learn about the Research Patient Data Registry (RPDR) and the Biobank Portal. The RPDR is a centralized clinical data registry, or data warehouse that gathers clinical information from various Partners hospital systems. The Biobank Portal is a tool that links consented subjects from the Partners Biobank with their health care data from the electronic medical record (EMR). The Research Computing Core team will also be available to help users on finding efficient solutions using technology for the unique needs of research environments. The Core provides consulting and technology services to researchers and their project teams at competitive hourly rates. Our Scientific Computing Team will be on hand to answer questions about the ERISOne Linux Cluster and the suite of computational resources available to you. ERISOne is a computing cluster with a job scheduling system for batch jobs and remote desktops for graphical applications, running on a Linux OS. Whether currently using these services or looking to start, come on by for in-person consultation and support. ERIS Office Hours at MGH are held the first Monday of each month. Subject matter experts will be on site and happy to help you navigate the ERIS tools and services available to help your research and innovation, discuss problems and answer your questions. No appointment necessary. The main theme of this R User Group Meeting is "RShiny!" We have our R scripts for data analysis and data visualization, and we want to share this. R Shiny server makes this really easy. We are pleased to have 3 "Show-And-Tell" speakers. They will share their experience in developing Shiny apps. The Partners R User Group seeks to bring this community together to share ideas, discuss R related topics, and provide direction for new and experienced users. This is an informal event for employees who work within the Partners network. Pizza and beverages will be provided. Please register online.

The class will emphasize common strategies and best practices in utilizing Computational Resources and high-capacity storage systems provided by ERIS. This hands-on course has limited space, and registration is required.

  • Intermediate ERISOne Linux Cluster Training

    This second ERISOne course in the series is designed to familiarize researchers with our working environment. The class will emphasize common strategies and best practices in utilizing Computational Resources and high-capacity storage systems provided by ERIS. This class will also include a hands-on session to provide the audience an opportunity to log onto the system, check out its software stack and use the scheduler for job submission, etc. Registration is required.

  • Next Research Technical Lunch, Thursday May 31, 12noon-2pm.  Speakers:
    • Brian Kilduff and Jack Brown will discuss the PHS Office 365 performance improvement initiative and field questions and concerns.
    • Leo Hill, Deputy CIO and Director, Research IT at Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE), presents on research IT at MEE and the merger with Partners
