HOW TO: Configure and Connect to VPN on a Mac with Software Token Authentication

Requirements:

  • macOS 11, 12 or 13. If your Mac is running an OS older than 10.15, you are out of support, at risk, and out of compliance with Mass General Brigham policy. Please contact the Service Desk for assistance with an upgrade
  • PEAS Enrollment. Verify you are enrolled in PEAS by looking for Self Service in your Applications folder. Review KB0034657 to enroll in PEAS
  • RSA SecurID application. Contact the IS Service Desk to request access to RSA SecurID
  • A device registered for phone verification in MyProfile. Contact the Service Desk if you need assistance with MyProfile
  • Ensure you are not connected to PHSWIFI3 to connect to VPN

HOW TO: Configure and Connect to VPN on a Mac

 

  1. Launch Self Service from your Applications folder
  2. Log in with your Mass General Brigham credentials
  3. Click Install under the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client to install (or upgrade as necessary)
  4. Launch Cisco Anyconnect from the Cisco folder within your Applications folder
  5. In the connection box enter: pvc.partners.org/token and click Connect
  6. Launch SecurID from your Applications folder. Contact the Service Desk if you need to request access to SecurID setup. To set up SecurID, see KB0028016
  7. Enter your Username, Passcode (SecurID Tokencode), and Second Password (Mass General Brigham password). Click OK to authenticate your software token
  8. Congratulations! You have successfully set up, configured, and connected to VPN with a software token
