Table of Contents
Incompatible Hardware. This is a list of KNOWN incompatible computers. Even if your computer is not on the list McAfee encryption could still fail. If that happens you will be advised of alternatives.
Latest Notes:
McAfee EEPC not compatible with Win 11 ARM installations.
McAfee EEPC not compatible with Win 10 version 20H2.
McAfee EEPC now requires UEFI
Chrome OS: Chromebooks are not supported by Mass General Brigham IS, and cannot be used on the Mass General Brigham computer network, or to work on any MGB documents.
OPTANE: Systems with Optane style solid state drives or memory are not compatible with McAfee EEPC. Optane is used by several laptop manufacturers. Please check the System hardware specs before installing EEPC.
OPAL: McAfee EEPC Does not support OPAL Drives.

Identifying Incompatible Products
Open the EEPC log file C:\Program Files\McAfee\Endpoint Encryption Agent\MfeEpe.log to identify the incompatible software, then from the Windows Add/Remove Programs, uninstall the product. DO NOT remove program if it is a RAID controller, lab equipment drivers/app, or other essential app used by the customer.
If the EEPC log file couldn't identify the incompatible product, try looking at the Windows system logs.
