We are happy to bring you the newest issue of our Partners Biobank newsletter created for participants in the Biobank project. The Biobank is a collection of samples and data from patients at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital that are used for research. It’s been a busy and exciting year for the project.
The Biobank has just hit a significant milestone: 25,000 consented patients. We are growing faster than ever and hope to expand to 75,000 participants by the year 2018. The Biobank is a crucial resource for researchers studying a wide variety of health conditions from psychiatric disorders to heart disease and diabetes. None of this would be possible without the help of participants like you.
Since our last newsletter, we are excited to announce that we have held the first meeting of our newly formed Community Advisory Panel.
In this issue:
- Learn about the Community Advisory Panel.
- Find out what happens to your blood samples once they reach our laboratory.
- Look into research being done with Biobank samples.
- Discover what the future might hold for research.
