HOWTO: Activate and Renew Adobe Cloud Subscriptions

 

NOTE: We were recently informed by Adobe that MGB no longer qualifies for educational pricing despite our affiliation with Harvard University. Adobe now requires health care organizations to be wholly owned subsidiaries of educational institutions to qualify. Insight, MGB Digital, and MGB Contracting leadership continue to appeal this decision and proposed pricing to Adobe management. We are actively engaged in exploring a low-cost alternative to Adobe Acrobat Pro.


This article provides some tips on how to activate and install Adobe Software after it has been purchased. If you are looking for information regarding purchasing the software, visit, Educational Discounts on Software Purchases through Insight .

Activate and Install Adobe Software:

  1. Log in Adobe and Manage your Account to install the software or the Creative Cloud Installer.  Login with your Adobe ID, the same email address that you provided with the purchase.  
  2. If the license is an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, check your email.
    • You will receive an email From: Adobe Creative Cloud Subject: Join your team on Adobe Creative Cloud and click Accept Invitation to activate your license.  
      • If you do not see this email within one business day of purchase, contact your account administrator.
      • If you purchased the software from Insight your account administrator is Insight, @email, (888) 213-8430.

Renew and Reactivate your Adobe Cloud Subscription:

  1. Accounts must be renewed annually *; follow the purchasing steps outlined in the Knowledge Base article, Educational Discounts on Software Purchases through Insight 
    • If you purchased the subscription through Insight, the account holder will be sent a renewal quote about three weeks ahead of the account expiration. 
  2. If the license is an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, there are two additional steps to activate your renewal each year:
    1. You will receive an email From: Adobe Creative Cloud Subject: Join your team on Adobe Creative Cloud and click Accept Invitation to reactivate your license.  
      • If you do not see this email within one business day of purchase, contact your account administrator.
        • If you purchased the software from Insight your account administrator is Insight,  @email, (888) 213-8430.
    2. You must sign out of the account and log back in for the changes to the account to take place.
      • To completely sign out, launch the Adobe Creative Cloud application manager > click the gear icon > select Preferences > select Account > click Sign Out from Creative Cloud.

* Mass General Brigham has two Adobe VIP agreements. One is Corporate and the other Educational.  The Corporate VIP renews each April.  The Educational VIP renews each November. (Users with a Harvard.edu email address qualify for this program. All others user the Corporate agreement.)

Miscellaneous Information about Adobe Creative Cloud Subscriptions:

  • The software is downloaded to your computer and you can work offline for up to 99 days before you need to connect to the Internet so Adobe can confirm your subscription. 
  • Each license can be installed on two computers for each adobe user ID.
