HOWTO: Download and install FileMaker Pro 18 clients

Purpose:

  • Instructions how to download and install FileMaker Pro 18 client software from the Mass General Brigham computer network.  
  • Windows and Mac versions available
  • Software is provided free if used with ERIS Hosted FileMaker Servers.  
  • Compatible with FileMaker Server versions 16, 17, 18

Requirements:

  • You must be connected to the Mass General Brigham computer network.
  • Host Compatibility:  FileMaker Pro 18 can connect to the following hosts: FileMaker Server 17, 16 and 15 
 

System Requirements

Please note that OS X 10.15 is no longer supported. Please update your operating system before upgrading to FileMaker Pro 18.

*Version stated is the minimum requirement. FileMaker Pro may also work with later operating systems certified by FileMaker, Inc. Operating systems not listed in the table above have not been tested and are not supported.

  Minimum Requirements Recommended Requirements
 Windows

CPU: 1 GHz or faster x86 or x64 processor
RAM: 1 GB

CPU: 1 GHz or faster x86- or x64-bit processor
RAM: 2 GB or more

 Mac RAM: 2 GB RAM: 4 GB or more

Mac Installation Instructions:

  1. Mount the volume containing the installation files at smb://rfawin.partners.org/filemaker/Filemaker-client-18/Mac
  2. Log in with your Mass General Brigham username and password
  3. Double-click the disk image FileMaker18 Advanced.dmg (.dmg file) on the networked volume.
  4. Double-click the FileMaker Pro 18 Advanced.pkg installer application.

Windows Installation Instructions:

  1. Mount the network drive containing the installation files at \\rfawin.partners.org\filemaker\Filemaker-client-18\Win using the File Explorer
  2. Log in with your Mass General Brigham username and password. Example:  partners\abc0
  3. For 32bit installer go to 32Bit folder and double-click setup.exe
  4. For 64bit installer go to 64Bit folder and double-click setup.exe
