The ERIS Core Facility provides cost-effective consultation and technical services to advance world-class medical research. Our goal is to facilitate research breakthroughs through collaborative approaches that are economically structured for research finances.

Alissa ScharfManager

Alissa has a MPH in Epidemiology and more than 25 years of experience in the fields of public health research, global health and project management. Her past experiences include working with Partners In Health (PIH) to bring new tuberculosis drugs to multi-drug resistant patients in 15 countries; creating a new Center of Excellence at the Harvard School of Public Health; and serving as the Deputy Director of Emergency Preparedness for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Alissa joined Mass General Brigham in March 2017.



Chris MowSenior Systems Developer

Chris develops custom software applications, plug-ins, and automated systems for MGB research labs on a fee-for-service basis.



Joshua SostekSystem Designer

Local to the Boston area, Josh grew up in Revere, Massachusetts and has worked for the Museum of Fine Arts. He joined MGB in August of 2016, and his job involves building departmental and lab websites, specializing in several technologies such as PHP, Java, Drupal, and WordPress. In his spare time, he likes to build high power rockets, play the guitar, build websites, and smoke meat. Other than that, it’s difficult to find Josh not at work, as he spends most of his time either at Assembly Row or in his home office.
