Recommended or required actions to secure your computer:

Partners HealthCare Portable Device Security Handbook describes all current requirements related to the security of portable devices (e.g., laptops, smartphones, tablets).
Follow the guidelines set forth by Partners Information Security (.pdf download)
Install Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware
Enable your local firewall
Install the latest updates for your system
