Finding Applications for Use in MGB Studies

Application Catalog

Introduction

For research teams pursuing applications for use in their studies, we have developed a searchable database of our application catalog (please note that these are NOT approved applications but simply a compilation of products with which we are familiar).

This database can be used to help narrow down applications based on features by using the sort and filter functions.  The features are described in the table below.

 

Field Name Description
In Use currently in use within the MGB organization. Additional application information/use case details available upon request.
Purpose – this is the purpose for using the software.  Users can select more than one response. 
  •  synchronous/asynchronous – concurrent data transmission between subject/team versus data transmitted and stored for later review
  •  geolocation – software/wearable that is capable of deducing the geolocation of a device connected to the Internet. It can be used for monitoring the location of patients for safety/security, measure ambulation distance, etc
  •  biometrics – transmission of data from a wearable such as blood pressure, heart rate, etc
  •  self report – data reported by respondent or their proxy.  Typically this would be responses to survey questions, could be subjective or objective
  •  appointment/consult request
  •  VR/gaming
  •  educate/connect subjects – would allow subjects to read customized information and enable connection to othersfor support, etc
Integrates with Epic application is integrated or communicates with Epic
Portal application has a portal where data transmitted by subjects can be reviewed by study team
Patient cohort an application that helps identify subjects that meet criteria for study inclusion

Reminders - system can send reminders.  Users can select more than one.
