Herbert Harrison, PHS Corporate Manager of Enterprise Delivery Services and his team gave an overview of their department and discussed current initiatives: Active Directory, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Database, Disaster Recovery, Epic Client Systems, and LRS printing.
Daniel Guettler, Lead Software Architect, Research Informatics Core, The Center for Systems Biology, MGH presented "Application development in the Cloud era". Daniel discussed the complete development life cycle in use at CSB including his use of GitHub, automated builds and tests on CodeShip, automated code review on CodeClimate, and automatic deployment.
John Pappas, Dan Fuchs and Chris Custer from the PHS Clinical Systems Integration Team discussed their use of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). FIHR is the latest standard to be developed under the HL7 organization and is a standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically. The team also discussed their use of SMART Application Fundamentals, the PHS SMART Shell and offered a demonstration.
Tim White, Associate Director, PHS Infrastructure Technology Services , discussed the recent reorganization involving Integrated Network Communications (INC) and Technical Services Operations (TSO). He also discussed current initiatives and fielded questions.
