HOWTO: Decommission a Mailing List in List Manager (Lyris)

In order to continue to offer List Manager (Lyris) as a free service to to the Mass General Brigham workforce, we ask that Mailing List administrators take the following steps when they use a list infrequently or know they no longer need it. Each email address, or member, on your list takes up a spot on the license, and our license allows for up to 1,000,000 members.

  1. For backup, we recommend you export your member list in case you need this for your records or to recreate the list in the future. To export, we recommend you use Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Mac users, please note that the export does not work in Safari. 
    1. Log in to List Manager https://researchlistadmin.partners.org 
    2. Navigate to Members > View Members from the left hand navigation
    3. Click on the excel icon in the top right corner 
    4. Save the file for your records
  2. Delete all results

If you plan to use your list again, you can stop here. If you are ready to fully decommission your list, please contact support at rcc@partners.org with the following information:

  1. List Name(s)
  2. Do you have any subscribe or unsubscribe forms to retire?
