Partners HealthCare Biobank DNA Days

Partners HealthCare Biobank DNA Days

October 22, 2015 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
MGH White Lobby by Coffee Central

Discovery starts with you!  To those of you who have already participated in DNA Days, thank you.  For those of you who haven’t participated before, there are new opportunities to volunteer!

The Partners HealthCare Biobank is a large research program designed to help researchers understand how people’s health is affected by their genes, lifestyle and environment. By donating just a few minutes of your day towards participating in the Biobank, you can make a meaningful contribution to research that helps us better understand, treat and even prevent the diseases that might affect your health and the health of future generations. To view a list of active research underway with current volunteer samples, check out the link below:

Any employee is eligible to participate in this voluntary event. Participation will involve signing a consent form, giving a small blood sample for future research and answering some easy questions. You can sign up by stopping by the DNA Days table on the following days in the White Lobby by Coffee Central:

  • Thursday, October 22 from 8 am to 2 pm
  • Thursday, November 19 from 8 am to 2 pm
  • Thursday, December 10 from 8 am to 2 pm

If you choose to participate, please note:

  • Information from the study will be linked to your Partners Medical Record and both may be used for research
  • Information related to the study will be used by Partners for research only
  • Your information will be managed in accordance with strict privacy protocols
  • You may be recontacted and asked to provide additional voluntary information or another consented sample

This initiative is sponsored by the Partners HealthCare Biobank which is a part of Partners HealthCare Personalized Medicine (PHPM) and by the generous assistance of the Mass General Research Institute.
